  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup applesauce
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ½ cup powdered sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk sugar, oil, applesauce, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  5. Roll dough into 1-inch balls, then coat each ball in powdered sugar.
  6. Place balls on the baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until cookies crack on top.
  8. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring.
