  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Sliced almonds for decoration (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add flour, almond flour, and salt. Mix until dough comes together.
  5. Roll dough out on a lightly floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness.
  6. Cut into star shapes using a cookie cutter. Place on prepared baking sheet.
  7. Press sliced almonds onto cookies if desired.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
